I Need a New Do - Help a Sister Out

I'm tired of my hair. It's boring, it needs to AT LEAST be trimmed and I want to do something different. I've put together a couple pictures that I really like, is it weird that the blondes seem to be calling my name? I know it's a lot of up keep and that's what I'm NOT excited about, but it'd be fun and exciting, wouldn't it?

Which one do you like the best? If not blonde I'm voting for #1 I love the dark and then the hint of gold. I feel like I've been every color under the rainbow; blonde, brunette, red, and because of a mistake I had black hair for a while (yikes, not cute).

I've read articles that when women get bored with their lives or something in their lives drastically changes
( um hello I just graduated from college, just broke up with the bf, and am now in big girl world) the most common thing they change is their hair. (soooo that explains Brittney Spears, she was just "stressed," & maybe a little wacked out). Help me choose!

What's your must use, favorite hair products? I don't do much to my hair (I'm lazy and am blessed with pretty straight hair... God doesn't give you anything you can't handle right?)

I currently use:

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner (love it)

Fekkai Marine Summer Hair Beach Waves

Help me choose a new do, I need all the help I can get. That way if I leave the salon looking like a crazy I can blame it on you.

Preston Scott & Shoulds

Preston Scott Smith

I am now the proud "auntj" of Mr. Preston Scott Smith. He's absolutely perfect and I am already completely in love. He was born on Friday, and weighed 9.2 lbs,  quite a tubbo if I do say myself. My sister is doing great, and got to go home today I'm sure she's glad to be home. I don't think I've ever held a baby that young, I mean I was holding him less than an hour after he was born. He's perfect, small (well kinda), sweet and I can't wait to teach him everything I know.

It's funny, I was never one of those people that really were into children, babysitting has never been my thing other than for some extra money. Kids stress me out. But holding that sweet little thing completely made me change my mind. I can't wait to have one. Well lets get this straight I can wait and will wait, but it's definitely something to look forward to, just that forward...forward thinking as in the far future. I just have to find a boyfriend, then a fiance, and a husband.... oh  Lord sounds stressful.

On a random note Sundays are absolutely my favorite day of the week. There is never anything that "has to be done." Just shoulds, and I LOVE shoulds because I never do them, ever it seems. I should do laundry, I should clean my room, I should run errands, hell I should shower and shave my legs (that takes forever, don't act like you don't dread that fun little task too). But I am NOT going to. I am posted up on the couch watching movies and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Well maybe posted on the couch watching movies with a special someone but that's beside the point.

I'm feeling so blessed lately, great friends and a perfect little baby joining the fam. Enjoy your week and get ready for a three day weekend! Do you have any plans?

xo.

5 Current Obsessions

1. Pinterest
I can't quit typing in random things (bedrooms, fashion, boots ,Mary Kate, small bracelets...yea I told you they were random) and watching this online world of "gotta have its" unfold. If you're currently not a member, sign up for an invite and enjoy. Look for me and lets be "friends" or whatever it's called now-a-days.

2.  Mashable
This isn't for everyone, it's for the social media - I hate reading the news - I want to know what's happening in the world to impress the fellas - kind of girl. I get the email every morning and enjoy my morning- have to have it- can't function without it- cup of  jo and read it in about 10 minutes right before the j-o-b gets going. Sign up, impress the fellas, and hell even learn something new. Added Bonus: If you're looking for a job in marketing or social media they've got GREAT jobs posted on their website mostly in New York but a few scattered around the U.S.

3. White Jeans
Ladies we've got to wear em while we can. A lot of people are saying, white jeans are not just a "Summer must" they're a "Winter must" as well... I can't decide if I agree. What do you think? Will you be wearing your whites as "Winter whites?" Dark jeans are too hot, light jeans make anyone (and I mean anyone, look like a fat ass) so it seems that in this weather which is hotter than a mo, white jeans it is. We'll have to wait until Winter to see if I brave the trend, that is if Winter ever gets here.

4. Cucumber Water
Completely random I know but this restaurant that I've started eating at and quite frankly obsessing over too, Hubble and Hudson serves their water with cucumbers in it. I know it's old but I can honestly say I don't think I've ever had it. I think it might be the most refreshing thing I have ever had. Make yourself some, easy as can be.. it's literally water, cucumbers and ice. (ice, ice, baby... don't act like you weren't thinking it.)

5. My High School Playlists
I recently started listening to some of my old high school playlists on some old CDs I found and honestly, I think I might have had better music taste then than now. Granted, my music taste is completely different than then. Now it's almost to the two extremes, either super mellow or hip hop rap. While then it was more acoustic and rock. Lots of rock actually. There is all my rebellion wrapped up into a couple sharpie covered CDs. I am so happy to not be back in that time of my life, whew. It's strange though I still feel like I know every song. Today on my drive home, I was that girl you drive next to that you laugh at because she's obviously singing at the top of her lungs  (off key) and having a drum session on her steering wheel. My almost hour drive home was actually enjoyable. My advice, is pull out those old mix CD's the cute boy in high school made you and enjoy a little of the "memory lane."

I Like Em' Cheap & High.....My Shoes That Is.

Dear post-college budget,

You haven't changed much since college and either has my love for shoes. I've recently come to the conclusion that spending boocoos of money on a pair of shoes that are going to go out of style/get ruined at the bar/hurt your feet the first time you wear them, quite frankly isn't worth it. So to cure my obsession and keep my wallet happy I went on a search for cheap shoes I'd actually wear, and get noticed in. So I thought to myself where the cheapest shoes are.. yep you guessed it, Payless. Don't shun me yet... just wait till you see the bargains I found, and don't you go and order them all or we're going to be sportin' the same kicks.

Now you can't tell me that there isn't one of these that you wouldn't wear... I like them all quite frankly, and there were a few more that I debated putting them on here or not. I officially call dibbs on these. Enjoy the cheap shoes save  & your money for the expensive drinks.

Blind Date Parte Dos

Alright everyone, I have to admit this guy was actually... really great? We went to dinner, had a few drinks then he took me to a really neat place called the Dessert Gallery or something like that and we had an oreo dessert cake thing that was absolutely delicious. We then ended the night at Owl Bar with a drink and a round of trivia (we lost, but I impressed him with my one correct answer)... yep just one. If I say so myself, that was actually a really great date. When was the last time you went on a date that was actually really enjoyable? Shoot I can't really think of very many off the top of my head... or any?(Yikes)

Right before he got there of course mom told me a horror story of one blind date that she went on...thanks mom. Supposedly one of her "friends" did the whole "i know the perfect guy for you" scenario... please refer to yesterday's post, sounds familiar huh? Granted my mom is 5'9 and yea I'm a runt I don't want to talk about it, she said she got there and the guy was literally MAYBE 5'5. Now I have nothing against smaller people (shoot I'm one), but when you can't even look the guy in the eyes without squatting, I'm not sure he's for you... just a thought.

Anyways Mr. Blind Date was a gentleman, opened my doors and I think (of course I would notice this) he even got his car washed and detailed before our date.... now that's a freakin' keeper. Alright ladies I'm taking bids on this guy. He's got a great job, gets his ass up everyday and works, speaks spanish fluently (I've heard that's the language of love.. or something like that), and he at LEAST planned the date. Most guys get as far as dinner, then they're lost.

Side note: I'm at jury duty and the girl sitting beside me just put gum and her mouth and threw the trash on the floor.... I honestly want to pick it up and make her eat it. Your mother doesn't work here. (sorry small little rant time)

Back to the date...it was a great experience, makes me realize what I've been missing for a while... a long while. All in all I'm really glad I went, if anything I met a really great friend and who can't use another friend?

So the real question is who's next?

P.S this place is ideal for people watching...amazing.

Blind Date

So I got set up, literally first blind date ever. Mom calls.. "I need to tell this guy if you're going to go out on a date with him or not." Um sure? "This guy" is someone I've never met, never even even heard about until mom blabbed to her girlfriends that I was newly single (preciateya' mom). Low and behold someone in her group "knows just the right one," Lord help me.

Not going to lie, I've already looked him up on Facebook and Googled him (hey don't judge you can't be too careful nowadays, never know who you're going to get.) He seems pretty normal, but don't they all until they drop the bomb on you on why exactly their single. I'm hoping for the best maybe he'll turn out to by my knight in shining armor... ok who am I kidding? Maybe not my prince charming but a friend, shoot I'll take a friend at this point and a good dinner. Hey this is actually looking like a win win situation for me here.. if he's not a creeper.

This would work.
Big question, what to wear on a blind date.. at 8 o'clock on a Tuesday. Dress = too dressed up, jeans are boring, but white jeans... aw the ever so famous I'm putting in some effort/ my butt looks good in white jeans, jeans. Well that was an easy decision. Have to wear flats of course, don't want to accidentally be taller than him on the first date, talk about awkward giant girl. Guess we'll have to put a little faith in the madre, a little faith in fate and hope for the best, here goes nothing!

Update: T-minus 6 hours until the big date and I just got bit by a bug on my face... FML.

Life Changes..Ready or Not

I can't believe it's been two years since I've last wrote an entry. There has been so much in the past two years that were definitely blog worthy, yet I never took the time. That's one of those little flaws I have.. great ideas and thoughts... but the follow through is the trouble.

Lets see, I've graduated college, I've got a job, and oh yea I'm newly single, watch out boys..men, I mean men. Well doesn't all that sound pretty damn wonderful... sike. Lets just say getting out of college and going to work every day isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be. Don't get me wrong I am so blessed to have a job, a lot of my friends still aren't working (must be nice). Hey I heard McDonalds is hiring...but that's besides the point.

It's interesting getting "yanked" out of your 4 year bubble. All of your friends aren't just right around the corner, there isn't the "local bar," you don't know someone everywhere you go. You're in a new city, with a new home, a new job... and with no money. Dang, talk about a reality check.

I wish it was easier to meet people in a big city. It's throwing me off, I've never had trouble meeting people before and now all of a sudden it seems everyone I meet is a crazy and has more issues than I can afford to take on right now. Where do you go to meet normal people, soberly? That's the million dollar question.

Life's good I'm blessed, just looking for some new "peeps."
